Computer
Every AxAgent has its own sandboxed computer.
AxAgent does not only answer questions. It has its own sandboxed computer in a data center with fast internet, so it can install software, run code, and work with files.
Coming Q4 2026
AxAgent launches in Q4 2026. The API below may change before launch.
What the agent can do
- Install software and packages.
- Clone repositories and run code.
- Run tests and fix what fails.
- Start a server and expose it on a port.
You can save and restore the computer with snapshots.
Enable the computer
Turn on the computer module when you create the agent.
import Axerity from '@axerity/sdk'
const axerity = new Axerity()
const agent = await axerity.agents.create({
model: 'anthropic/claude-sonnet-5.5',
modules: {
computer: { size: 'standard' },
},
})Give the agent a task
Set computer: true on a run to let the agent use its computer for that task.
const run = await axerity.runs.create({
agent: agent.id,
input: 'Clone acme/web, run the tests, and fix what fails',
computer: true,
})
console.log(run.text)
console.log(run.usage.computeSeconds)run.usage.computeSeconds reports how long the computer was used during the run.
Run a command yourself
Use axerity.computers.exec() to run a shell command on the agent's computer directly.
const result = await axerity.computers.exec(agent.id, 'pnpm test')
console.log(result.exitCode)Pass { background: true } to start a long-running process, such as a dev server, without waiting for it to exit.
await axerity.computers.exec(agent.id, 'pnpm dev --port 3000', {
background: true,
})
